In America, whenever a celeb dies or whenever a new one enters the scene (political, etertainment, whatever), people really freak out & focus on that person too much. They don't "sort of" idolize the person...THEY DO that 100%! Look at Obama: when he came into the scene, he was on every single newspaper & news outlet in the world for weeks.
Now that Mike Jackson has died, people are wailing over the "King of Pop."
What about Jesus, the "King of Kings?" Who is crying for him & when was the last time we as Christians did that? I know that I don't always get weepy over my Lord...but it's time that I do. In the Psalms, God says that He counts all the tears I shed for Him.
God is the Only One who deserves real limelight. But we put others in that spotlight where Jesus deserves to go.
Mike Jackson died because of a heartattack....Jesus died for us to be saved forever & to have a relationship with God.
Not to say that I am saying "Don't RIP, Mike Jackson." But I do believe that America needs to check their hearts.....it's past time.
Who else has died for you? Did Buddha, Muhammad, or any of the 3,000,000 Hindu gods die so that you could have eternal salvation?
Just like serving false gods is tiring & worthless, so is serving the celebrities & politicians & whoever else is in the media 24/7, like they are gods.
